Admission of Bangladeshi Students
Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examination in the Science group with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from any recognized Board or University of Bangladesh within the last two years are eligible to apply. Applicants must also have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent examination in the Science group within the preceding two years.
To be eligible, candidates must obtain a minimum total GPA of 9.00 in SSC and HSC combined, with at least GPA 4.00 in Biology in the HSC examination.
Students who have completed ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level or equivalent examinations in the specified years are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the equivalent academic requirements and submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Director, Medical Education (DME), Mohakhali, Dhaka.
Applications must be submitted to a government medical college as per the official advertisement issued by the Director, Medical Education (DME). The admission test is conducted on the same date and at the same time for both government and private medical colleges across Bangladesh.
Admission is strictly merit-based and follows the criteria and guidelines prescribed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC). The entire admission process, including application, examination, and selection, is organized and conducted by the Director, Medical Education, Government of Bangladesh.

Admission of Foreign Students
Foreign applicants must have completed ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level or equivalent examinations with a minimum total GPA of 7.00, including a minimum GPA of 4.00 in Biology.
All academic transcripts and certificates must be verified and approved by the appropriate authority, and an Equivalence Certificate must be obtained from the Office of the Director, Medical Education (DME), HMPD, DGHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka, upon payment of the prescribed fees. This equivalence certificate is mandatory to establish eligibility for admission.
Eligible candidates are required to apply between September and November. Applicants must submit foreign ministry–attested copies of their academic transcripts, photographs, and other required documents through the Embassy of Bangladesh in their respective countries or via their own Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in accordance with official procedures.
The admission process may be facilitated or coordinated by recognized Education Consultancy Firms or Organizations operating in the applicants’ home countries, where applicable.
